Kitty Hawk Kites, Grayton Beach Fitness and SoWal Lifeguard YOLO Teams Win Second Race in YOLO Board Stand-Up Paddle Series
Teams finish first in the Women’s, Men’s and Elite Division respectively in the second event of the five race series hosted by YOLO Board

Santa Rosa Beach, Fla. (June 14, 2010) – YOLO Board announces the results of the second 2010 YOLO Board Stand-Up Paddle Series race event on June 3rd at Western Lake in WaterColor. The Kitty Hawk Kites team composed of Petra Altidor, Sabrina Hardy, Marketa Rypova and Zane Urnikatook first in the Women’s Division. The Grayton Beach Fitness team consisting of Paul Hunter, Chris Ogle, Shane Babin and Stefan Daiberl won the Men’s Division, repeating their victory from the first race. The SoWal Lifeguard YOLO team of Justin Cook, Sean Hughes and Gary Wise also finished first for the second time in a row in the new Elite division race. The 2010 series includes 14 Women’s teams, 11 Men’s teams and four Elite teams. Spectators enjoyed refreshments provided by the The Baithouse at WaterColor. The Women’s Division 2nd and 3rd place finishers were the On the Coast Magazine and Unbalanced Teams while the Billabong and Laser Awesome teams rounded out the top three for the Men. The Sunset Beach Services and GUSU teams finished 2nd and 3rd respectively in the Elite Division. The next race event is scheduled for Friday June 25th at Baytowne Marina at Sandestin. The 29 teams will continue on to compete throughout the series as they vie for the champion title “YOLO Board Cup Series” to be awarded after the final race in August in each division. Race dates (weather permitting) are: June 25th, July 15th and August 19th. Races begin at 5:00pm. The YOLO Stand-Up Paddle Series Family Day race on Sunday, June 6th was held at Eastern Lake. Area children participated in different types of races including parent/child races, relay style races and individual races. The lighthearted event allowed the children to learn how to paddle and enjoy a little friendly competition out on the water. The third and final Family Day event will be held on July 18th at Eastern Lake at 2:00pm. Children may participate for $25 each with parents being free. The children’s race fee includes a YOLO race jersey.
